The festive lighting and scenery throughout NYC at Christmas time is a beautiful reminder of the Light of Christ. It’s no wonder this beautiful city is used as a backdrop for so many inspiring films. From the twinkling displays on Fifth Avenue to the majestic Rockefeller Center tree, the city becomes a canvas for stories of redemption, grace, and transformation. From sparkling lights on Fifth Avenue to the towering Rockefeller Center tree, the city itself seems to glow with a special kind of light. This light reflects more than just festive cheer—it symbolizes something deeper, something eternal: the Light of Christ.
Inspired by the theme of the “Light of Christ,” we would like to share a bible passage that foretells the coming of Jesus, who would illuminate a world darkened by sin and despair. The light Isaiah describes is not only divine but transformative. It brings hope, redemption, and joy to those who receive it. Remarkably, these themes appear even in some of our favorite Christmas movies set in New York City—stories where characters experience their own moments of light, redemption, and moral transformation.
